Etsy fee calculator with Offsite Ads — what the 12–15% ad fee really costs

When Etsy attributes a sale to one of its Offsite Ads, it takes an extra cut on top of every other fee: 15% of item + shipping if your shop made under $10,000 in the trailing 365 days (you can opt out), or 12% once you are past $10,000 — then it is mandatory for the lifetime of the shop.
